Damian Jr. Gong Marley
The youngest son in the musical family of Marley's spawned by internationally beloved reggae icon Bob Marley, 28-year-old Damian Marley carries on the artistic creativity and social and political fire of his father and brings his own touch to the legacy. Debuting as a recording artist a decade ago, Jr. Gong -- as Damian is known, after his father's Tuff Gong nickname -- proved his promise with his 2001 Grammy-winning major-label debut, Halfway Tree. But his breakout came last year with his Welcome to Jamrock album and the single of the same, both Grammy winners that caught on with the urban music crowd thanks to Marley's mix of reggae, R&B, hip-hop and Jamaican dancehall. He is sure to move the body and spirit in his Austin City Limits Music Festival debut.
