About The Bots

“Mix Black Keys and White Stripes and what you don’t get is grey sludge. You get kids who sound alive with feral punk energy”--The Guardian
Brothers and band-mates Mikaiah Lei (Lead Vocal, Guitar, Bass), and Anaiah Lei (Drums & Percussions, Backing Vocal), recorded their first album together when they were just 15 and 12. Three albums, two Vans Warped Tours, two Afro-Punk Festival Tours and countless European Festivals later, fall 2013 saw their debut release with Fader Label, the four-song EP “Sincerely Sorry.” SHK Magazine calls “Sincerely Sorry” ‘a blast-combining motorhead-esque riffs with punk grime and furious drum-work. A confident label debut.’
Break-Out single “5:17” was selected by NPR for their All Things Considered feature, with the band’s sound being described as “not too far removed from The Black Keys or The White Stripes, but with a bit more R&B influence, and a dash of Jimi Hendrix thrown in.”
New York Times Magazine predicts “They are on the cusp of Stardom” and Transworld love their “Rare youthful energy...untempered confidence [And] face-melting jams.” The band has been handpicked to join tours by everyone from Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Social Distortion to Refused and Bad Brains. Damon Albarn even called them his “current favorite band.”
